Data coverage and sources

FoodCheck USA does not cover the whole country. There is no single national restaurant inspection database, so each city is added one at a time from its official open data.

Freshness

Both cities update their datasets frequently. FoodCheck USA refreshes its copy periodically, so a very recent inspection may appear on the official site before it appears here. Every page shows the date of the source data it is based on.

Planned cities

Other cities and counties publish inspection data, but formats, scoring and reuse terms differ widely. A city is added only after its data is checked.
